My Christmas by Evan Heemstra
Sorry this is a little late - my parents somehow thought it was a good idea to leave Grandma's house and sit in the car for 18 hours. I am just now recovering. Anyhow, my friends at day care told me about Christmas, but they must not be Heemstras, because it was nothing like what they described. First we had a Christmas Eve party. It was really loud, and there were lots of people all wearing silly hats. They even put some reindeer antlers on me. I did get to sit in Santa's lap and get a present, which was fun.
Before Santa left, we all sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." Again, loud . . . but fun.
Then, on Christmas day, we had Feliz Navidad. Somehow a sombrero ended up on my head. Mom and Dad ate enchiladas, then took part in a handbell competition. It was really fun, but sometimes I wonder about this crazy family I was born into.
It's a good thing I had my cousin Colin there for moral support.
Oh, and they tried to start giving me table food. YUCK!!! As you can see, they were too busy taking pictures to remove the offending piece of banana from my mouth.
But, then I got to bounce in my jumper and play with my new sandbox bucket, and all was well again.
All in all, I had a lot of fun (except for the whole banana incident). I hope you had a wonderful Christmas (or Feliz Navidad) as well!
